4th Rakuten R&D Symposium
Rakuten Institute of Technology will host the 4th Rakuten Research and Development Symposium on November 19th, 2011 at Rakuten Headquarters. This symposium aims to provide an opportunity to share and discuss various Internet related research from both academic and technological perspective.
This year's theme will be "Real + Internet + Technology". We are expecting to have interesting demos and poster presentations, as well as an Invited Speech and Panel discussion.
Research demo and poster session will be held to share and discuss cutting edge results of latest research or ideas currently under study.
In this section, we would like to provide an opportunity to discuss technological and development issues of the current and future research directions through presentations and discussions.
We encourage you to present your research using "Rakuten Data" distributed last August, as well as the new distribution of Rakuten-Ichiba review data.
Through this event, we are hoping to create a unique and open environment by inviting researchers from both academia and the industry to combine the spirit of academic debate with enterprise-oriented perspective.
It will be our pleasure if this event provides some future research and development directions to all participants.

Demo and Poster Presentation
Overview
Rakuten R&D Symposium calls for research presentations in the areas relating to the theme of the symposium "Reality + Internet + Technology". Submitted research papers will be reviewed by research paper evaluation committee members. Accepted papers will be presented in either demo or poster format.
Entry conditions
A presenter must fulfill one of the following conditions:
| -Student whose major is Information Technology areas (Undergraduate, master or doctor) | |
| -Researcher who has earned master or doctor degree in Information Technology areas in the last 3 years. |
However, these conditions are NOT applied for following research:
- - The presenter is from an organization which have Rakuten Data, and
- - Reearch focus on Rakuten Data
